To Start Oracle 11g DB

[oracle@oraxxxx ~]$ export  $ORACLE_SID=orcl

[oracle@oraxxxx ~]$ echo $ORACLE_SID
orcl

[oracle@oraxxxx ~]$ sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

To Stop Oracle 11g DB

[oracle@oraxxxx ~]$ sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

SQL> shutdown immediate
Database closed.
Database dismounted.
ORACLE instance shut down.

SQL> quit
